How it fits together

Measure once, and it's everywhere

Everything runs on a dedicated local network. Internet is only needed to link PolyField Server with your competition management system.

  1. Step 1: Measure and record

    • PolyField App + EDM With an EDM, the App is the EDM's interface: calibrate, measure and confirm each attempt.
    • Without an EDM The App is still the interface: officials enter marks, heights and wind.
    • Stand-alone Use the App on its own, with paper cards to record results.

Passes on: Athletes in, results out

  2. Step 2: Collect

    • PolyField Server Sends each event's athletes to the App so officials measure athlete by athlete, and collects every result.
    • Competition management provider Server downloads start lists and uploads results: OpenTrack, Athletics App or Roster Athletics (start lists).

Passes on: Results to every screen

  3. Step 3: Share

    • Analytics Statistics, heat maps, PDF reports and social media graphics.
    • Local displays and announcer view Results board, standings, RAZA rankings and the latest results for the announcer, on any browser.
    • PolyField & Track Displays Puts Server field results alongside FinishLynx or TimeTronics photo finish results on scoreboards and screens.

Network requirements

  • A network of its own. Run PolyField on a dedicated network, separate from any guest or public Wi-Fi at the stadium.
  • Devices must see each other. The network can't isolate devices (often called client or AP isolation) or split them into separate segments. App devices talk to PolyField Server, and screens talk to PolyField & Track Displays or Server, directly over the local network.
  • Internet is optional. PolyField Server only needs it to link with your competition management system. PolyField & Track Displays never needs it.
